Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of accounting, tax, and advisory services provided by CGI Accountants Ltd. Please read them carefully before engaging our services.

1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms apply to all clients and users of services provided by CGI Accountants Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 12190551), with its registered office at Branch House, 31–33 Branch Road, Batley, WF17 5SB, United Kingdom.
1.2 By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms, which form the basis of the agreement between you and CGI Accountants Ltd.
1.3 These Terms apply to business and individual clients receiving accounting, payroll, tax, or consultancy services from our firm.

2. Scope of Services

2.1 CGI Accountants Ltd provides professional accounting, payroll, tax, and business advisory services in accordance with UK law and recognised professional standards.
2.2 The specific scope of work, fees, and deliverables will be set out in our engagement letter or proposal.
2.3 We may use secure third-party software and systems, including Bright CRM, for communication, client onboarding, document management, and reporting.

3. Client Responsibilities

3.1 You agree to provide accurate and complete information required for the delivery of our services.
3.2 You remain responsible for the accuracy of any financial records and for ensuring that all statutory filings are approved by you before submission.
3.3 You must inform us promptly of any changes in your circumstances that may affect your accounts or tax position.
3.4 Failure to provide required information in a timely manner may delay or affect our ability to deliver services.

4. Fees and Payment

4.1 Fees are agreed in advance and detailed in your engagement letter.
4.2 Invoices are payable upon receipt unless otherwise stated.
4.3 Late payments may incur interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
4.4 CGI Accountants Ltd reserves the right to suspend services if invoices remain unpaid after reasonable notice.

5. Use of Third-Party Systems

5.1 We use trusted providers, including Bright CRM and HMRC-authorised platforms, to manage client information securely.
5.2 By using our services, you consent to limited data processing within these systems as required to deliver accounting and compliance support.
5.3 We take reasonable steps to ensure that all third-party systems comply with UK data protection and confidentiality standards.

6. Confidentiality and Data Protection

6.1 All client information is treated as strictly confidential.
6.2 We process personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
6.3 Details of how we handle personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy.
6.4 We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, or a court order.

7. Liability

7.1 CGI Accountants Ltd provides all services with reasonable care and skill.
7.2 We are not liable for losses arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client or for actions taken without our written advice.
7.3 Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount of professional fees paid for the relevant service.
7.4 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, negligence, or matters that cannot be limited by law.

8. Termination

8.1 Either party may terminate the engagement with written notice as specified in the engagement letter.
8.2 Upon termination, all outstanding fees become immediately due.
8.3 We may retain copies of records required to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
8.4 Access to client dashboards or portals may be withdrawn once services end.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 All working papers, templates, and materials created by CGI Accountants Ltd remain our intellectual property.
9.2 Clients receive the right to use deliverables solely for internal or regulatory purposes related to their business.

10. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

10.1 We are committed to providing high-quality service. If you have a complaint, please contact info@cgi-accountants.co.uk in the first instance.
10.2 Complaints will be handled in line with our internal procedures.
10.3 If a dispute cannot be resolved, you may refer the matter to our professional body or a recognised ombudsman.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

11.1 These Terms and any related disputes are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
11.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to these Terms.

12. Amendments

12.1 CGI Accountants Ltd may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, regulation, or business practices.
12.2 Updated Terms will be made available on our website and will take effect immediately upon publication.
